What is the difference between a color ink and a standard pigment based ink?
The dye-based ink consists of the dye dissolved and suspended completely in the liquid.
The pigment ink consists of fine powder of solid dye suspended in a liquid carrier.
You should use this type of ink recommended for your printer. The pigment ink will quickly clog the printer’s head designed for dye-based ink. Also, do not change the ink in the middle. For example, if you use dye-based ink in the printer already, you better not turn it into a pigment ink in the middle. It will damage your printer easily.
